This crew came together from Ohio and Kentucky for Labor Day weekend at Lake Norman, with grandparents, grown kids, plenty of grandkids and one brand-new three-month-old. We photographed the whole crew, then broke things down into all the combinations that make an extended family session worth doing.

Eight-year-old Sofia showed up to the studio ready to WORK that camera. With Mom doing her makeup and Sofia bringing plenty of confidence and personality, we created a mix of colorful and black-and-white portraits that feel completely like her. Proof that kids don’t need a milestone to deserve their own photoshoot.
