Class of 2026—and Already Two Degrees Ahead

Graduating from high school is already a pretty big deal.

Graduating from high school with an associate degree at the same time? Yeah, that deserves a little extra celebration.

Amaya is part of the Class of 2026, and she's closing out this chapter with not one, but two major accomplishments: earning her high school diploma and her associate degree from Central Piedmont.

So when it came time for her senior portraits, there was a lot worth documenting.

Senior Photos That Celebrate More Than Senior Year

Senior portraits are about who you are at this exact moment—the personality, the accomplishments, the style and everything that got you here.

For Amaya's studio senior session, we wanted to celebrate both sides of her graduation story while still creating portraits that felt like her.

We started simple and relaxed with jeans, a white top and a clean neutral background. No elaborate setup needed. Just Amaya being herself.

Because around here, I don't do "say cheese."

Then we brought in the graduation details.

Her cap and gown, diplomas and graduation pieces helped tell the story of everything she's accomplished before even leaving high school. The oversized 26 gave us a fun nod to her graduation year without making every image feel like a traditional graduation portrait.

And then came that green dress.

Because Senior Photos Don't Have to Look Like "Senior Photos"

The emerald velvet dress completely changed the mood of the session.

Against the darker and deep green backgrounds, we created portraits that felt polished, confident and grown-up—a perfect contrast to the casual looks and traditional cap-and-gown photos.

That's one of my favorite things about a studio senior portrait session. We can create completely different looks in the same space.

Bring the cap and gown. Bring the jeans. Bring the dress that makes you feel incredible.

Your Accomplishments Belong in Your Senior Photos

For students graduating through dual-enrollment, early-college or similar programs, senior year can represent a whole lot more than finishing high school.

You've worked for those college credits. You've spent years balancing classes, deadlines and expectations. If you're graduating with a certificate, associate degree or another accomplishment alongside your high school diploma, bring it.

Those details are part of your story.

Amaya's session wasn't about choosing between celebrating high school graduation or her associate degree.

We celebrated both.

And we made plenty of beautiful portraits of her without either one, because ultimately this session was about the person behind all those accomplishments.
